Hey guys – I hope February was good to you. Before we speed into mid March, let me share a special experience from the beginning of the year with you. Back in January, Snapchat asked me to speak at Digital Upfront, an in-person presentation featuring speakers like Roman Kemp, Chunkz, and Nishma Robb. As you could imagine, it felt amazing to have the opportunity to speak alongside other successful digital players.

To look the part, I wore a stunning blazer from unfinished prjtz. The piece was taken from their upcycled range, a collection where vintage blazers are given a new lease of life through modern tailoring. For a casual touch, the blazer was paired with c and Tom Ford Heels, as well as a Diesel mini bag in neon green croc that gave the look an amazing pop of colour. This ensemble made me feel classy, elegant, and more than ready to speak at Snapchat’s event.

For the talks, I visited the amazing entertainment district Outernet. Right by Tottenham Court Road station, the huge, gold building is difficult to miss. Inside the mighty venue, I was a part of the Snap Stars Panel next to Chunks (who you may know from Beta Squad on Youtube) and Emily McDonald, Snapchat’s Head of Talent in the UK, Nordics, and Netherlands.

During the night, I revealed why I prefer Snapchat to other social media platforms and how it’s been a great tool to build greater awareness of my businesses. In fact, I sold the vast majority of tickets for The Kika Experience through Snapchat promotion.

‘“There is a great sense of community [on Snapchat] in every sense of the word”, said Kika Osunde, Snapchat star and Founder of Good Hair, describing it as “the perfect focus group” to share her ideas.’ – From IABUK.

Another topic I covered was the relationship between Snapchat and mental health since all likes, comments, and followers on the app are hidden. As it stands, my most viewed Snapchat story gained 52 million views in 24 hours. Although this number seems overwhelming, it’s far easier to manage when you’re not bombarded with every single comment or reaction towards it.

And that’s a wrap! Thanks again Snapchat for inviting me to this amazing panel. It was great to hear other snap stars talk about their positive experiences with the platform, see how it can be used to forge deeper connections with communities, and share my own insights that I hope future digital players will find useful.

Until Next Time,

Lots of Love, Kika.
