Right guys, so who here has watched Young, Famous and African? If you haven’t seen it yet, you’ve got to set aside an evening this week to watch it! It made history by being Netflix’s first African reality TV show, focusing on a lively cast of media stars in Johannesburg—and there’s plenty of drama to keep you interested throughout.
I’m bringing this up as I was recently invited to a private listening party hosted by one of the show’s stars: Diamond Platnumz. He’s currently East Africa’s biggest musician, so it was a huge honour to get an invite.
To make sure I made a glamorous entrance to the party (it was held in Shoreditch), I put together a head-turning look. The focal point of my outfit was a stunning, figure-hugging dress from @bellabejj. I adored the high-quality fabric as it is really forgiving and flattering for your figure. I also liked the way the sexy silhouette enhanced my curves.
As I love Bella Bejj’s fashion line, I asked them to describe themselves so you can learn a little bit more about them:
“Bella Bejj is one of the world’s leading fashion brands. We’re currently based in Ghana, Africa (Courts Plaza, Kigali Avenue, Boundary Road, East-Legon) and are looking to expand to other continents in the near future.
Always at the forefront of style, we’re renowned for delivering the season’s most-wanted looks to millions of people worldwide. Also, we’re always being talked about as we sell phenomenal pop culture/urban fashion looks worn by your favourite celebrities and influencers.”
To complement their dress, I found the perfect pair of Gianvito Rossi sandals. There were these cute pom-poms on them that matched the colourful print on the dress. Finally, to add a more classic element to the look, I also put on some timeless Van Cleef & Arpels earrings.
Inspired by my recent trip to Portugal, I kept my makeup and hair fairly natural. On top of that, I still had a great tan from the holiday, so my face was the perfect canvas for a no-makeup makeup look. When doing my own makeup, I concentrated on applying creamy products, liquid highlighter for a subtle glow, and a touch of bronzer.
For hair, @eugenze returned with her top hairstyling skills. She effortlessly styled my natural hair which had been dyed in a deep, reddish-brown colour, matching the colours in my outfit. Once she’d finished, my curls felt nourished and ready for a great evening out.
So that’s everything about the look I wore to Diamond Platnumz’s listening party. Overall, it was a fun-filled night elevated by his amazing vocals. Go and check out his music ASAP!
Until Next Time,
Lots of Love, Kika.
